Choice.lk is an eCommerce company focused on selling branded and fashion accessories online and offline incorporated in 2013 with a mission to provide “high quality” products with “cost effective” price.
The Problem
Choice.lk was already up and running for almost more than 6+ years and they had a huge variety of products. Their online store was running on OpenCart platform which was not updated in 2 years. The problem with updating OpenCart is that, when you update the platform, a completely new installation has to be made, and new extensions have to be bought, if one used custom themes and/or extensions before, and still needs similar functions in a new install. Hence we decided to shift the platform to WooCommerce.
Tackling the Challenge
Solution & Strategy
We started with creating a staging site in a subdomain with a brand-new installation of WordPress and WooCommerce. We showed the client some samples and demo for their new online store to choose from. The site did not require any custom features or mods.
The site was already indexed by almost all the search engines since it was there for quite a long time. And we made sure that the URLs stay the same using Yoast SEO plugin.
The client was already using WebXpay payment gateway in their old site so we simply integrated it to the new site.
UI & UX
Choice.lk main theme color is Atlantis Green #89D22A that matches the existing logo. Just Black #000000 for paragraphs, Mine Shaft Black #232323 for heading and Mercury Grey for #E5E5E5 fancy headings.
A Bonus Feature
Choice.lk has both online and offline sales. Offline sales which they do when customers visit their physical store. We offered them with a Point of Sale system integrated and worked with WooCommerce that had a centralized database. Hence making it easy for them to manage all the stocks of their products from one dashboard.
